A Vietnamese Immigrant in Philadelphia

Karin Brandt recently completed the Master in City Planning degree at the Department of Urban Studies & Planning.  Before MIT, she worked as an AmeriCorps Member in Philadelphia with immigrants.  Karin continued pursuing questions raised from that experience in her thesis on urban immigrant integration.

    Karin-

Thanks for this wonderful visual of Philadelphia and its ethnic communities. I got hungry just seeing images of 11th and Washington. I love your question about how immigration can change the design of cities, and I think that’s such an important point for planners and designers and city dwellers to consider. Thank you!
