I wheatpasted the Bus Stop Chairs from Burma in Los Angeles’ Arts District. The Arts District, previously known as the Warehouse District, became popular as Los Angeles artists began to claim former industrial buildings as artist lofts. It’s not uncommon to see whole walls in the Arts District coated in murals or wheatpasted posters. Within a block of this site are pieces by several prominent artists such as Shepard Fairey.
It took me a minute after wheatpasting to realize I had just chosen a spot for the chairs next to a poster of Tupac Shakur.
Several days later, however, rain washed down the bus stop chairs and only Tupac remained standing.
