In June of 2013, I put out an open call asking for blog posts about contested spaces. The spaces could be anywhere: in rural towns or massive cities. The contests could be of any nature: ethnic clashes or legal snares. I was looking for situations in which different people were acting on their different ideas about how a particular place should be used.
In July we published one post about one contested space every day for about two weeks. We continue to welcome these posts from anywhere in the world. — Alexa Mills, MIT CoLab
